But it wouldn't click. It walked funny. It was a crazy puzzle, an enigma. It was one of those Gordian Knots. Once we got that, all our worries went out the window. All love. It was a eureka moment. Now it's a eureka moment for everybody in the world." -- Drummer Matthew Woodman Woodley Listen to Lightshow Download: Lightshow (MP3) [Get Winamp] [Download Help] Next MP3 MP3 of the DayFiled under: Free MP3 Download of the Day 1220 Tom Ardolino, Longtime NRBQ Drummer, Dead at 56 Posted on Jan 7th 2012 3:05PM by Kenneth Partridge Comments Phil Han, Getty Images Tom Ardolino, a longtime drummer for the critically loved, commercially underappreciated rock band NRBQ, died last night (Jan. 6) following a long illness, according to the Hartford Courant. He was 56. Ardolino joined NRBQ -- short for New Rhythm and Blues Quartet -- in 1974, taking over for original timekeeper Tom Staley. Over the next 30 years, Ardolino played on 15 studio albums, leaving his mark on songs that would earn the group a fervent cult following, if limited mainstream success. NRBQ's fan base is said to include Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello and Bob Dylan, and their songs have been covered by everyone from Bonnie Raitt to She & Him, who recorded 'Ridin' in My Car' for 2010's 'Volume Two' and 'Christmas Wish' for their recent holiday album. It's about the inevitability of family. My sister and I couldn't be more different, physically and personality wise, but we've ended up the same. Although the lyrics are sometimes dark, I take comfort in our duality and I admire it too." "It's our fever-dream dia-de-los-muertos, burlesque version of Robert Palmer's leggy 80's video for ''Addicted to Love', minus the crappy music part of that video." Getting stabbed isn't something you'd expect to happen to you at a Gregg Allman concert. But unfortunately for rock fan Ronald Sixt Jr., his night seeing the rock legend ended with a knife wound to the face.

During the Wednesday, Jan. 4, show at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Sixt had apparently bumped into one Carl Darren Brothers, a drunken concertgoer who became aggressive after the initial contact. The men began arguing while Allman continued to play on stage, then fought for a period of time before Brothers unleashed a knife from his back pocket and stabbed Sixt.

CBS reports the venue's security broke up the fight and subsequently called police. Brothers was booked at the Metro Nashville Jail and charged with aggravated assault, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He has since been released. Sixt was treated for minor facial lacerations.
